Ever worked beside an aardvark? Interested in being a better public speaker or stronger leader? Are you an animal lover or like meeting new people? Well, if you said yes to any of these, then the W.I.L.D. Program is the right place for you!
Here at the Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens, we’re always looking for great talent to add to our current team. Therefore, we are excited to announce that we are expanding our team soon and looking for teens just like you!
As a W.I.L.D. Steward, you will practice team building and leadership development through a range of projects and experiential learning opportunities like river kayaking and removing invasive plant species from our local beaches to staffing an educational table at an environmental festival and collaborating with other teen leaders around the nation. Along with your team of coworkers, you will strengthen your public speaking skills by engaging our guests in conservation conversations and promoting our take action initiatives. You will deliver educational outreach presentations using a variety of live animals ranging from the exotics like the Australian Tawny Frogmouth and giant Common Boa of Central and South America to Florida natives like the American Alligator and Striped Skunk.
So, if you are a teen between the ages of 14 – 18 who would be an asset to our team, please join the innovative, award winning W.I.L.D. Program family. Keep an eye out for our application.
Recruitment begins February 2018!
