September 5- Butterfly Garden

Come enjoy the butterflies as they flutter by while we point out the important plants that attract those elegantly peaceful insects to your garden.  With the right plants and a little patience you can enjoy the wonders of the whole butterfly life cycle right in your own back yard.

October 3- Sensory Overload

Join us for a sensory stimulating garden tour, anyone can look at the plants, we want to get a little physical.  Stimulate your senses as we explore the Gardens for plants that do more than just look pretty.  Come with us to touch, taste, smell, and listen to our gardens.

November 7-  Shades of Autumn

The cooling weather not only invigorates our gardening ambitions but it energizes the gardens as well.  Join us for a casual walk down the River of Color to enjoy the cooling weather and the Autumnal show highlighting the best and brightest plants of the season.

December 5- Bamboo

With the opening of the Asian Garden we have increased our bamboo collection immensely, and though at first glance it all looks green, its not just another grass.  We will be walking thru the Gardens with area expert Richard Lindberg discussing the unique distinctions of each variety.

Thank you for considering our Garden Tours. Here are a few friendly reminders that will make your tour more pleasant:

  1. This is a walking tour out in the Gardens.  Please dress appropriately and wear comfortable walking shoes.
  2. Remember your water! You can bring your own or we have several cafés in the Zoo that sell bottled water.
  3. We will continue with the tour if there is a light rain.
  4. Updates will be posted on our Web site if there is a change to the tour schedule due to severe weather.
